Instituto Estelar Bilingüe prides itself on being an international meeting point, where people from all over the world come to study Spanish and where local Costa Ricans learn English. A driving force behind the institute is the desire to improve quality of life and develop human potential; involvement in volunteer programs, along with opportunities for intercultural exchange, have been cornerstones of the school’s mission since its foundation. Located in downtown Liberia, the capital of Guanacaste, Estelar is the place to be. We can’t wait for you to join us here!

Everyone who walks through the doors becomes part of the Estelar family. As we only want the best for our family, we go the extra mile in treating everyone with respect and personalized care. Our language courses employ the communicative method, which means that students interact and converse in every single class. This methodology leads to excellent results, which is why locals trust us more than any other school to teach them English, and world travelers give us great reviews about their Spanish immersion experience. In fact, we developed our own Spanish curriculum because we were not impressed with textbooks on the market.

Having two languages under the same roof has many benefits, particularly to people who are looking for authentic experiences in Costa Rica. If you crave real connections with people and places, look no further: Estelar provides a unique setting for meeting people, practicing the language with native speakers, and learning first-hand about cultures, life philosophies, and daily practices. Our teachers are passionate leaders who are not only highly qualified, certified professionals, and native speakers of the language they teach, but they are also the kind of people you want to spend time with: world travelers, volunteers, critical thinkers, lifelong learners, artists, musicians, and seekers.

Becoming bilingual is hard work, but our teachers make learning Spanish or English really enjoyable, and our program is structured to facilitate success. You will work hard and be encouraged to take risks and even feel uncomfortable at times, but you will feel the joy of achieving your goals and realizing that you really are Estelar – stellar, extraordinary.
